About us

We teach the craft behind every live broadcast

spotlymixo was created by working gallery crews who wanted a better way to learn live production: on real equipment, with real colleagues, at real broadcast pace.

Our mission is to make live production accessible to everyone

Television and streaming productions rely on a small number of people making fast decisions together. Too often those skills are learned only by shadowing, and only if you are lucky enough to get the chance.

At spotlymixo we give new and experienced crew a safe space to practise multi-camera switching, live broadcasting techniques, real-time video operation and production management, then to make mistakes, learn from them and try again before they ever go on air.

Every course ends with a full live run-through, so you leave with confidence and a clear idea of how a working gallery operates.

How we teach

Principles that shape every session

Live means live

There is no second take on air. We train to the clock, with real running orders and real pressure.

Small cohorts

No more than six trainees per gallery, so everyone spends meaningful time at the desk.

Crew communication

Great shows are built on clear talkback. We teach the language and discipline of the gallery.

Eyes on the shot

Anticipation beats reaction. We coach you to read the show and be ready before the call.

Our team

Meet the people who run the gallery

Our leadership and support crew keep every course organised, safe and genuinely hands-on.
